BIODIVERSITY ITINERARY

On the occasion of the celebration of the World Day of biological diversity and on the 25th anniversary of the entry into force of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), on May 22nd 2018 the three protected spaces of the Principality presented together three biodiversity itineraries, which were framed within the activities proposed by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainability in order to guarantee the conservation and sustainable use of the biodiversity in the Principality.

The Madriu-Perafita-Claror valley proposes a short and easy itinerary that connects the Estany’s hut and the guarded refuge of l’Illa, following the GRP-GR11 path, which passes through various wetlands, meadows and shrubbery communities, shelter of a large variety of species of flora and fauna, well adapted to the high mountains demanding environmental conditions.
